Expression of Interest - Non-Executive Director
The Agricultural Business Research Institute (ABRI) is seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and experienced persons interested in a Non-executive Director. The Board is looking for a range of skills including exceptional business acumen, commercialisation, legal (Intellectual Property), governance, strategic oversight and information technology. In addition, agricultural industry experience would be advantageous but not essential.

With over a 50 years’ heritage, ABRI (a Controlled Entity of the University of New England) provides world-leading data-driven solutions that enhance the productivity, sustainability and profitability of the global agricultural industry, including the BREEDPLAN Genetic Evaluation system and Breed Registry suite.
ABRI has an active Board, a strong management team and is on the cusp of substantial growth. The Board is seeking nominations from persons who are passionate about innovation, industry value creation and solutions that contribute to the long-term success of the global agricultural community.
There are typically five (5) board meetings held each year with at least two meetings and a strategy and a risk management day held in-person in Armidale, with the remainder held remotely. Board members may also be invited to other ABRI events and UNE Alumni events and functions. Board members are renumerated at a rate agreed by the Board and ABRI meets travel, accommodation costs and other pre-approved expenditure relating to board meeting attendance or activities.
There are currently six Directors and a Company Secretary. The Board is looking to replace a retiring Director, with the replacement expected to start late April 2025 for an initial three-year term.
