About the Role
As the Extension & Engagement Technical Consultant, you’ll play a pivotal role in promoting and delivering ABRI’s livestock improvement services. Your focus will be on providing expert technical support, facilitating training, and building strong relationships with clients across Australia and internationally.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and deliver workshops, training, and presentations on beef breeding and genetic evaluation technologies.
Provide tailored herd consultations to beef producers.
Collaborate with industry stakeholders, including breed societies, Meat & Livestock Australia (MLA), and the Animal Genetics and Breeding Unit (AGBU).
Support the testing and development of BREEDPLAN and BreedObject software, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Contribute to the evolution of ABRI’s genetic evaluation technologies, including MateSel and GeneProb.
Deliver outstanding customer service by customising and implementing Extension & Engagement services.
Maintain accurate records of activities and ensure alignment with company policies and industry standards.
What We’re Looking For
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
A strong background in livestock genetics, animal breeding, or a related field.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
Experience in delivering training or workshops, preferably within the beef industry.
A passion for innovation and improving livestock productivity.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple projects.
